For learners

Your learning journey matters

Guidance, encouragement and practical support from enrolment to qualification completion and beyond.

Support that fits you

Every learner starts from a different place

Each learner brings their own strengths, experience, learning needs and career goals. Our support services are designed to give you guidance and practical help at every stage of your qualification.

We aim to provide an inclusive, supportive learning environment where you can build your confidence, achieve your qualification and move forward in your career.

The learner handbook and the learner support policy are both available on our Policies & Procedures page.

Our learner support services

Help when you need it

These are the main ways we support learners during their qualification.

Initial assessment and induction

You are introduced to your qualification requirements, assessment methods, learning expectations and the support available. Initial assessment helps us understand your learning needs and agree development goals.

Individual learning plans

Your plan sets out your learning objectives, assessment activities, progression milestones and expected completion targets.

Dedicated assessor support

An allocated assessor guides you on assessment requirements, evidence collection and progress through your qualification.

One-to-one support sessions

Individual sessions give you space to talk through challenges, review what you have achieved and plan the next stage of your learning.

Group learning and professional discussions

Interactive sessions encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional reflection with other learners.

Progress reviews

Regular reviews track your achievement, highlight any outstanding assessment requirements and agree support actions.

Reflective practice and professional development

You are encouraged to evaluate your workplace experience, identify development needs and strengthen your professional knowledge and skills.

Additional learning support

Where appropriate, reasonable adjustments and individual support arrangements may be available so that learning and assessment are fair for everyone.

Our commitment to learners

Fair, inclusive and open

We are committed to promoting equality, inclusion, learner wellbeing, fair assessment, professional conduct and continuous improvement.

We encourage you to take an active part in your own development. If you need extra support, talk to your assessor as early as you can so that we can help.

What we commit to

The learner handbook explains learning expectations, learner responsibilities, assessment and the support available. The learner support policy sets out how that support works in practice.

Both documents are listed on the Policies & Procedures page, where you can request a copy.
